Young M.A. became the hottest new rapper in New York last summer thanks to her unstoppable song "OOOUUU." You couldn't leave your house without hearing it, and it still hasn't gotten old. It's taken off in other cities too, as Young M.A. proved when she played to a packed house at one of Pandora's SXSW shows in Austin on Thursday (3/16). She was one of the artists we were excited to see, and she lived up to expectations.

She not surprisingly saved "OOOUUU" for last, and it went over just as well as you'd hope, but all the songs and a cappella/freestyles she did before that had the crowd screaming too. As did her New York pride, which she repped vocally and with her Yankees cap. She's gearing up to release her debut EP HerStory ahead her debut album HerStory In The Making, and presumably some of the stuff she played in Austin will end up on these releases. The EP is set to include "Hot Sauce," which she dropped a video for the week of SXSW.

After Young M.A. was Future Islands, who are prepping an anticipated new album but of course made time for older favorites like the massive "Seasons (Waiting On You)." They sounded great, and Sam T. Herring's dance moves were everything you'd expect them to be. Pictures of Future Islands and Young M.A. from Pandora's SXSW show are in the gallery above.
