Pitchfork Fest just announced their final 2013 lineup and not surprisingly it contains Waxahatchee whose amazing 2013 album they so wisely chose to champion.
As mentioned, Waxahatchee was just in Austin for some SXSW shows. Our own Andrew Sacher caught her at Holy Mountain and wrote:
Easily one of the most anticipated artists at this year's SXSW is Waxahatchee, whose new album, Cerulean Salt, just hit shelves and is driving a lot of people wild. And her live show lives up too. She played full band and stuck to the more rock-oriented songs and rock versions of softer tunes, and at least in the front of the room, the crowd was completely zoned in. "I loved Waxahatchee!" I excitedly said to someone at the show. "Yeah, everyone does," was her response. It's true.
Pictures in this post are from Waxahatchee's SXSW-Wednesday night NPR showcase at Stubb's (the one Nick Cave & Yeah Yeah Yeahs also played).
As also mentioned, Waxahatchee will be back in Austin in June for Chaos in Tejas for a show at The North Door on June 2nd with Iceage, Total Control, and Lower. That is definitely not a show to miss and tickets are still on sale.
