Iggy Pop just played an ACL Live taping last night (pictures), and he's got two more events happening in Austin this SXSW week. His official showcase is tonight (3/16) at ACL Live @ the Moody Theater. He plays at 9 PM. He also appears on his current bandmate Josh Homme's Beats 1 show "Alligator Hour" the next day (3/17) to play records, followed by a Q&A. Iggy and Josh also just appeared on the Nerdist Podcast.

Iggy's not the only punk legend in Austin for SXSW this week. Iggy's Stooges bandmate and Minutemen bassist Mike Watt teams with X co-lead vocalist John Doe for an official show Thursday night (3/17) at The Main II. Mike is on at 8 PM and John at 9. Earlier that day, at 5 PM, the two will be in conversation at the Convention Center's Room 16AB. They'll be discussing "the roots of Southern California punk and hardcore music," moderated by Tom DeSavia, John Doe's co-author for his upcoming book, Under the Big Black Sun: a Personal History of L.A. Punk, which Mike Watt also contributed to.

Sylvain Syvlain of the New York Dolls plays an official show at Hotel Vegas Patio tonight (3/16). He's on at 12:30 AM, right before Nobunny.

Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys and Rocket From the Tombs plays the Altercation Punk Rock BBQ day party on Saturday (3/19) at The Vortex. It's free with RSVP.

There's also a Ramones tribute happening on Thursday (3/17) on Maggie Mae's Rooftop. It's in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the band's debut album, and presented by the Grammy Museum (who do a tribute showcase every year). Artists playing it include Lydia Loveless, Lissie, Death Valley Girls, Ray Rocket (Teenage Bottlerocket) and more. More details and lineup here.
