Compass: How do you choose the set list for each show? Is it the same for every show on this tour?

Tim Butler: It varies. We play the hits, of course, and a few other songs that our fans have come to expect. But beyond that it could be just about anything. Right now, we're playing some new songs that haven't appeared on any record yet and others that we haven't played since our very first tour.

The Psychedelic Furs brought that mix of old and new to the new Antone's (formerly Beauty Ballroom) on Thursday night while CSS and friends were playing right next door at Emo's. Like in Long Island earlier this summer the band played 18 songs closing with a 2-song encore of "Pretty in Pink" and "Sleep Comes Down".
