M For Montreal joins us at SXSW 2017 + Friday night showcase at Swan Dive
As M For Montreal point out in their own announcement:
THURSDAY, MARCH 16
We’re teaming up with our long-standing partner, New York blog Brooklyn Vegan, as well as Texas festival Sound on Sound to present a daytime party from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Cheer Up Charlies. Six hours of shows featuring this great lineup of artists: Beach Slang, Priests, Downtown Boys, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Le Butcherettes, Vagabon, Jay Som, Dave Monks (of Tokyo Police Club), LVL UP, Duchess Says, Frankie Rose, Weaves, She-Devils and Stef Chura.FRIDAY, MARCH 17
Our 11th presence at SXSW will culminate on Friday night with a 100% Québécois evening at Swan Dive. First, M and POP Montreal will team up again for the infamous Poutine Party to the sound of the talented Mozart’s Sister, followed by a DJ set from RYAN Playground. Supported by Quebec Creates, this “haute cuisine” event is a golden opportunity for international networking! Capacity is limited so click here to RSVP!
The evening will then continue with our official showcase under the open sky on Swan Dive’s backyard patio. Starting at 8 p.m. and co-presented by our friends at Exclaim!, the showcase will feature psych punk act I.D.A.L.G., mythic trio We Are Wolves, legendary live performers and moog rockers Duchess Says, KROY’s haunting electropop and post-punk band Heat, touring their new album Overnight released on January 20. Last but not least, the night’s soundtrack will end with the powerful electrosoul and hip hop collective Busty and the Bass, rounding off an eclectic artist lineup that will surely draw the looks of all surrounding bar patios.
