Future, A$AP Ferg, Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz, The Strokes & more playing SXSW
SXSW is coming up, with the music portion running from March 15-20 and the interactive portion running March 11-15 (which also has music). Since we last spoke, a few more big shows were announced.
A few sites have posted an RSVP link going around that says Blink-182, whose current lineup includes Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba in place of Tom Delonge and who are planning a new album, play Stubb's on Saturday, March 19, though it's probably fake. Stubb's has another show then. That comes a day after the (probably fake) Daft Punk rumors.
Future is headlining a YouTube show on Wednesday, March 16 at Coppertank Events Center. He's on at 10:45 PM, and the rest of that bill includes Santigold, Kehlani, Anderson. Paak, Dua Lipa and Banners.
YouTube also has two other shows at the same venue: Thursday with Blood Orange, Chairlift, Lukas Graham, Aurora, Maren Morris and Tate Kobang; and Friday with Jamie xx, Troye Sivan, The Range, Lewis Del Mar, MUNA and Lapsley.
A$AP Ferg is headlining the official Stereogum showcase on March 16 at Brazos Hall (aka Bud Light Factory). He's on at 1:05 AM and the rest of the lineup includes Chairlift, Into It. Over It., Twin Peaks, KING and Lower Dens. Admission is for badgeholders only.
Samsung are putting on Galaxy Life Fest during interactive. They have The Strokes and The Arcs on March 11; Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz, who just released their new collaborative album Collegrove, on March 12; and Sia and Elle King on March 13. More info here.
