Arcade Fire @ Austin360 Amphitheater - 4/10/2014
Arcade Fire opened themselves up to political scrutiny, giant bobblehead-style, this week when a man in an oversized papier-mâché Barack Obama head appeared next to a "talking head" version of Republican Texas Governor Rick Perry at their Austin concert. [Rolling Stone]
Arcade Fire brought their massive 2014 tour to Austin for a politicized show at Austin360 Amphitheater last night (4/10). Like they've been doing on much of this tour, in addition to playing material off their four studio albums, Arcade Fire covered some pretty famous songs, including Blondie's "Heart of Glass" and Prince's "Controversy." Pictures of the show, a video of the Blondie cover, and the setlist are in this post.
After the Austin360 Amphitheater show, Arcade Fire headed to a smaller Austin venue, The Continental, for a secret show as Phi Slamma Jamma of all covers including Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles and more. Anyone catch that?
