Innovative art pop musician and performance artist Laurie Anderson has a new exhibition, Landfall, which is currently open at the Visual Arts Center of the University of Texas. The exhibit opened on September 27 and is set to run through December 7. It’s free and open to the public. A description reads, “Tracing aspects of her long-standing interest in storytelling, as well as strangely unexpected intersections among art, music, technology, and language, Landfall highlights moments and stories from the world around us, as observed through Anderson’s distinct gaze.”

The exhibit was supposed to coincide with a performance a “rhythmic multi-media performance” of Landfall by Laurie and the Kronos Quartet at the university on October 16, but that performance was cancelled and is being rescheduled for the 2014-2015 Texas Performing Arts season. Stay tuned for more info on that.

In sadder news, Laurie Anderson just penned a tribute to her late, great husband Lou Reed. We just posted the whole thing on BrooklynVegan and you can head there to read it.
